1 Corinthians 1:27

For God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong; he chose the lowly things of the world and the despised things and the things that are not to nullify the things that are.

1 Corinthians 1:27 has become my life verse because when God chose me, He truly chose the shamed, the weak, and the lowly.

My past was filled with drugs, alcohol, and other addictions, as well as suffering from childhood abuse. As a consequence, I found myself in prison, uncertain of my future.

But, then God set me free! I began to diligently seek His face. In 1992, I met and married the love of my life, Rhonda. She and I, along with our two children, Nathan and Kayla, were truly loving life and knew that the best was yet to come.

I felt the Lord begin to call me into ministry. After graduating the Ministerial Internship Program, under Pastor Perry Keyt, I began to minister on a regular basis. In 2000, during a church service at Trinity Chapel Church of God, the Lord spoke to my heart and said that if I would obey His voice and launch a church, then He would cause me to be a voice to the nations.

I am already seeing this come to pass as I have not only been able to preach in various countries such as Haiti and Africa, but I have also been able to launch a Voice to the Nations in Cuba and Africa.

But, my vision was not only to the nations, it was for my local community of Griffin, Georgia. God has put in my heart three very specific goals:

  1. to tear down the walls of racism and Sunday morning segregation
  2. to allow the next generation to sing their song (if you don’t understand, get the CD!)
  3. to destroy the seed of poverty

So, if you’re looking for something different, come experience what cannot be explained.
